As Legend Pune continues to grow its impressive roster of VFX clients, the studio is looking to increase its workforce with artists experienced in the VFX areas of Matchmoving, Compositing, 3D Modeling, Texturing, Rigging and Lighting. In addition, the studio is seeking a DFX Supervisor, Senior Matte Painter and VFX Production Coordinator.

VFX Paint Team Lead

The Paint Lead supports and mentors the paint team, QCing internal shots and work. In addition, the Lead partners with the compositing team to integrate seamlessly all elements of a shot to the highest level of VFX “realism” for major feature films.

Responsibilities
  • Experience in Rig and Wire Removal, Plate restoration, Green Screen clean up and frame by frame painting.
  • Complete assigned tasks effectively; able to troubleshoot and QA own work to the highest quality.
  • QC shots to maintain the quality standards required by the client.
  • Proactively troubleshoot nuke scripts and solve problems; provide guidance for team members.
  • Come up with new approaches and techniques for specific tasks and design templates for the team.
  • Attend production meeting; complete corrections/revisions based on feedback and partner with compositors to complete shots.
  • Able to provide estimates for workflow and schedules; deliver high quality of work under tight deadlines.
  • Train, mentor and support Junior Artist.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paint Artist in a VFX Production environment – VFX on international projects will be a plus.
  • At least one year of experience in a Lead role.
  • A degree or diploma in computer graphics or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Nuke and Silhouette which includes 3D side of Nuke.
  • Knowledge of 3D tracking workflow is a plus.
  • A proven aesthetic eye with an understanding of color and composition
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem solving skills

VFX Roto Assistant Supervisor

VFX Roto Assistant Supervisor will lead, support and mentor the team leads for effective artist management. In addition, partners with the compositing team to make sure all the elements can seamlessly integrate to achieve the highest level of VFX “realism” for major feature films.

VFX Roto Assistant Supervisor is responsible to provide support and reports to the Roto/VFX Supervisor for determining the overall technical approach and provides the leadership needed to achieve the desired look and effects for a given project while acting as creative liaison between the facility and the client.

Responsibilities:
  • Able to deliver the highest quality of vfx roto – both character and inorganic objects to meet the client expectations.
  • Perform the highest level of QC to make sure that the client requirements are met.
  • Work with Production helping to breakdown task requirements and assign shots to team lead for artist to deliver.
  • Coach and mentor other Roto Team Lead using the latest techniques to grow their skillsets and the quality of work in the studio and mentor for effective artist management.
  • Determines the overall technical approach and provides technical leadership for visual effects for production, pre- and post-production.
  • Supports and reports to Supervisor for estimates and establishes resource requirements, budgets, schedules and performance standards for the production.
  • Accountable for on-time, on-budget execution and delivery, as well as quality, of all effects, work for the project.
  • Monitors project progress; directs staff and participates in plate shoots.
  • Conducts performance reviews and provides regular performance feedback to team leads.
  • Project bidding in the absence of Roto Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a VFX Roto Team Lead/Supervisor in a VFX Production environment. Experience working on international projects is a plus.
  • At least two years of experience in an assistant supervisory role.
  • Expert knowledge of Silhouette and good knowledge of Nuke to make sure that the templates are accurate.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Approachable, proactive, and accommodating attitude.
  • Innate desire to stay informed of current technologies.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to balance priorities under the pressure of a deadline-driven production.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

VFX Roto Team Lead

The Roto Lead supports and mentors the roto team, QC internal shots and work. In addition, the Lead partners with the compositing team to make sure all the elements can seamlessly integrate to achieve the highest level of VFX “realism” for major feature films.

Responsibilities
  • Able to deliver the highest quality of roto – both character and inorganic objects to meet the client expectations.
  • Able to correctly identify the motion blur and make sure that the rotos will work for the compositors.
  • Complete assigned tasks effectively; able to troubleshoot and QA own work to the highest quality.
  • Perform the highest level of QC to make sure that the client requirements are met.
  • Work with Production helping to breakdown task requirements and assign shots to artists.
  • Coach and mentor other Roto artists using the latest techniques to grow their skillset and the quality of work in the studio as a whole.
  • Tutor and train Junior Artists as required.
